Healthy Queensland—What are the Challenges?
To ask a question, click on the SPEECH BUBBLE icon in the lower right corner of your screen. Please include your name and email address and we'll respond where possible. Making Queenslanders among the healthiest in the world is an aspirational goal that is providing us with important challenges. The latest report from Queensland’s Chief Health Officer captures health trends at a state and regional level to assess the health of our population. It shows that while our preventive strategies are showing success, our health system is under pressure—hospital admissions are growing by an extra 70,000 a year and emergency department presentations by an extra 50,000 a year—an unsustainable trend. Dr Jeannette Young will address these and other issues in her presentation on the key findings from The Health of Queenslanders 2016, the sixth report in the series. Join Dr Young to explore how we as a sector can work with the people of Queensland to achieve a healthier future for all.
Dr Jeannette Young PSM, Chief Health Officer and Deputy Director-General, Prevention Division, Department of Health, Queensland
